Day 3 - Space & Creation Projects

We spent most of today reviewing what we've learned so far this week and working on some projects that I had intended us to have already begun. The first is a creation booklet that goes through the 7 days of Creation. We talked about the first 4 days and did the first 4 pages of the booklet.

K is doing a great job with the Readwell program and though I realize it will get much harder and could possibly get to be difficult for him (I think it is actually intended for the Kindergarten level) I feel like we can do the program at his pace and take our time when it gets too tough.

We spent some time talking about the moon and why it seems to appear different. We watched a YouTube video that helped explain the moon's cycle and during our morning snack time we used oreos to talk about the phases of the moon.

I have to share this fun app that I found from another blogger that shows where the planets, sun, moon and stars are located by looking through your phone. Its called SkyView Free and it is so much fun! We enjoyed using it to find some of the planets, look at some of the constellations and locate the moon.
